It has become a bit tradition for DownWind Outdoors to begin our seasonal success at this magnificant honeyhole. Eric and Jerrod took it upon themselves to start our season of coyote extermination instead of taking to the woods for New York State's first ever October 1st whitetail archery opener. In a move that disappointed many small game hunters, the small game opener overlaped archery season and a Youth gun weekend this year. Luckily, the "honeyhole" was still the right choice as it is not home to a lot of whitetail or turkeys. A last minute "change up" led to the success of this hunt. Eric and Jerrod had to make a last minute adjustment when the actual wind pattern proved to be the opposite of the forecasted direction. The team crossed to the other side of the coyote holding grounds, wind in favor, to bring in this clueless coyote.
